Ministry Description: The Family Ministries Pastor, working under the Lead Pastor, oversees the vision, direction and execution of the children’s, student, and adult ministries (collectively known as “Family Ministry”) at Crossroads Church. These ministries exist as partners with families in the discipling process that begins in the home and is encouraged and helped by the church. The Family Ministries Pastor oversees and provides guidance to the volunteer and paid staff. The Family Ministries Pastor has the responsibility of working with the Church Elders in establishing the vision, direction, and culture of these ministries. This is a full-time, salaried position. The Family Ministries Pastor will work under the direct supervision of the Lead Pastor and is responsible to the Crossroads Elders.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Build a discipling culture in Family Ministries that reflects the vision, mission, and values of Crossroads Church
• Build and implement a disciple-making strategy which prioritizes the role of parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children
• Build and implement a Family Ministry strategy which encourages a culture of service through evangelism, outreach, and missions.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance for Family Ministries staff, volunteer leadership, and ministry volunteers
• Oversee the recruitment and equipping of servant leaders to carry significant responsibility in Family Ministries; assure that appropriate background checks are done and kept up-to-date on all adults who come into contact with minors
• Develop, communicate, and enforce policies pertinent to Family Ministries, including the implementation of Child Protection Policies
• Oversee the planning and execution of outreach events, workshops, and community engagement initiatives for Family Ministries
• Oversee the planning and administration of summer camps
• Plan and implement Family Ministry goals and objectives
• Provide financial oversight of Family Ministries
• Help provide pastoral care to the Crossroads community - building relationships and providing pastoral support to children, parents, and family units
• Be an integral member of the Crossroads team and community through participation in Crossroads worship gatherings, initiatives, and Life Groups

Requirements
-A clear salvation testimony and a growing spiritual life
-Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; course work or prior experience in discipleship, family, children’s, and student ministry
-A commitment to be being a life-long learner
-Excellent administrative and communication skills, ability to manage staff
-A team player who works effectively with paid & volunteer staff and ministry volunteers -Desire to learn and use new technologies in a ministry context
-Demonstrated Christian character and depth of spiritual maturity
-Clear Criminal Record and superb character references
-Doctrinal alignment with Crossroads Church and the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)
