Title: Music Director/Worship Leader (25-30 hours per week)
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Qualification: Must be an active Christian who adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message.
Calling: Must have received a genuine call from God to be a minister or operate in said ministry.
Job Description: The individual will operate with three main functions - to "Develop", "Build", and "Maintain" as explained below.
- To Develop: See the spiritual needs of our congregation, and respond with an appropriate music ministry which furthers their growth as worshippers and follows the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
- To Build: Establish a plan of ministry and execute said plan whether personally, or through the partnership and overseeing of volunteers.
- To Maintain: Oversee said ministry, such that it is (1) in a healthy spiritual state, (2) is remaining effective with our congregation and in each meeting or worship service, and (3) is operating under the will of God. This includes dissolving said ministry, or characteristics of the ministry, in the event that any of these three characteristics are not being exemplified.
The individual will develop, build and maintain the following:
- Congregational Singing and response to worship environments
- A Choir and its various ministries, whether through a Worship Team, joint singing, etc.
- Special Singing, both personally and through the use of others' gifts
- Musical Training which may include basic music skills and vocal or instrumental foundations, along with one-on-one preparations for the execution of specials or other musical programs
- Worship programs for various special events, such as Christmas Cantatas, plays, revival services, Fellowships, etc. as needed
Piano/Keyboard skills are desired but not required.
