Position Overview:
As a full-time Associate Pastor with a focus on the Next Generation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the spiritual formation of our youngest members. You will lead and oversee our children’s and youth ministries, working alongside a dedicated team to create engaging programs and opportunities for spiritual growth. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct children’s and youth ministry programs, including regular teaching and discipleship.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for Next Generation ministries in alignment with the church’s mission.
- Cultivate authentic relationships with children, youth, and families, fostering a welcoming and discipleship-focused environment.
- Build and equip ministry teams to effectively serve in children’s and youth ministry.
- Recruit, screen, and train volunteers, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all participants.
- Provide support and resources to empower parents in the spiritual upbringing of their children.
- Coordinate outreach events and initiatives to engage children and youth in the community with the love of Christ.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with church leadership and staff to plan, evaluate, and coordinate ministry efforts.
- Contribute to the overall vision and direction of the church through active participation in planning meetings and discussions.
- Assist in developing a comprehensive church calendar to facilitate ministry coordination and communication.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the senior pastor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in ministry or a related field, or equivalent experience in Next Generation ministry.
- Proficiency in teaching and communicating the Bible to children and youth.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development through conferences, reading, and online training.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- A deep love for the local church and a passion for fulfilling the Great Commission.
- Alignment with biblical qualifications of a pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, including Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special programming times. Flexibility is required for scheduled meetings and events as needed.
