We are blessed with an excellent staff of 4 full-time pastoral staff, 2 administrative staff, and 2 volunteer staff members. Our staff team is committed to our mission and vision. Ministry Function:
Giving direction and leadership for all children's ministries (birth - 5th grade) of First Baptist Church of Summerfield.
Ministry Task:
Reaching, discipling, and building effective ministry and outreach to children and their families at FBC.
Primary Ministry Functions:
- Oversee all children's ministries including Sunday School, discipleship, and outreach
- Recruit and train volunteer leaders; provide leadership to respective ministry teams and ministry leaders
- Set the vision for the children's ministry consistent with the overall vision, mission, and values of the church
- Provide missional opportunities for children
- Build and maintain relationships with children, both believers and non-believers
- Build and maintain quality, equipping relationships with parents
- Set and oversee the children's ministry budget in a manner that reflects the values of the church’s vision and mission
- Involve children in the overall multigenerational ministry of the church, supporting and participating in the church’s vision, mission, worship services, and activities where appropriate
Secondary Assist Functions:
- Assist the disciple-making ministry in coordinating Sunday School emphases and promotions, in providing resources for discipleship to children
- Supply articles on a periodical basis for use in FBC publications relating to your responsible areas of ministry
- Adhere to church-approved guidelines as outlined in FBC Summerfield’s Bylaws and Policy and Procedures Manual
- Give full support to the church budget and avoid soliciting or expending funds not previously authorized
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Pastor
Basic Personal Responsibilities:
- Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, and meditation
- Maintain proper priorities in your home, if married
- Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church
- Financially support the work of ministries of FBC by faithfully giving at least 10% of your income
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A. or B.S. Degree from college or seminary (or in pursuit of degree from a theological institution of higher learning)
- Experience of three years or more in a church with multiple pastoral staff members and a student ministry with multiple leaders
- Familiarity with Apple products, Office 365, Planning Center, ASANA Project Management is desired, but not required

- Excellent people and relational skills applicable to all generations
- Ability to grasp the Senior pastor’s vision for the entire church and incorporate it into your vision for discipleship and evangelism at First Baptist Church of Summerfield.
- Familiarity and experience with all basic Sunday school, small group, outreach, and evangelism philosophies and methods.
- Must be willing to be flexible in working with other pastoral staff in fulfilling the Great Commission
Accountability:
This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
