Position Summary:

The Assistant Family Minister/Pastor supports the Family Ministry’s mission by discipling families, leading volunteers, and supporting the faith formation of children and students.  Reporting directly to the Pastor of Family Ministries, this role requires a balance of spiritual, administrative, and practical skills to ensure effective ministry operations and an environment conducive to making and maturing followers of Christ.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing and leading family ministry events, programs, and services.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule volunteers to ensure a strong discipleship environment.
  • Actively engage with volunteers, children, students, and parents to foster a welcoming and Christ honoring community.
  • Prepare and deliver biblically based messages for various family ministry gatherings, including children's, youth, and parent-focused sessions.
  • Coordinate with the family ministry team to help implement curriculum, programs, and volunteer involvement.
  • Participate in team meetings: provide feedback on family ministry operations and contribute to ongoing ministry improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain Facility Readiness: Clean and maintain the family ministry areas including meeting spaces and restrooms and ensure spaces are well-stocked, organized and ready for use before events and programming.
  • Manage Event Setup and Breakdown: Organize and supervise the setup and takedown of furniture, equipment, and decorations for family ministry events, coordinating team efforts for efficiency and timeliness.
  • Other duties as assigned to serve the church and ministry

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and alignment with the mission of Beach Road Church.
  • Ability to articulate a clear call to ministry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a welcoming and servant-hearted approach to ministry.
  • Previous experience in family ministry or related fields preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as needed, including cleaning the family ministry areas, setting up and arranging furniture, organizing spaces, and maintaining a clean and functional environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in ministry or the equivalent ministry experience in lieu of degree

Schedule & Compensation:

This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in availability based on event and program schedules, including consistent evening and weekend commitments. Compensation is based on experience and qualifications, with opportunities for growth within the Family Ministry team.
