Job Description: Interim Pastor
Position Overview: Hazelwood Baptist Church seeks an experienced and compassionate Interim Pastor to provide spiritual leadership and pastoral care during a transitional period. This individual will guide and support the congregation in maintaining continuity of ministry, fostering spiritual growth, and preparing for the next permanent pastor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spiritual Leadership:
- Lead worship services, preach sermons, and administer sacraments as needed.
- Provide pastoral care and counseling to congregants in times of need.
- Transition Management:
- Facilitate congregational stability and unity during the pastoral transition.
- Collaborate with church leadership to assess needs and establish goals for the interim period.
- Preparation for Successor:
- Assist in the process of identifying and preparing for the incoming permanent pastor.
- Provide guidance and support to the pastoral search committee as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Ordained minister with experience in pastoral ministry and church leadership.
- Commitment to Baptist principles and theology.
- Ability to provide spiritual guidance and support in times of transition
Term: This is a temporary part-time position serving during the search and call process for a new permanent pastor. The duration of the interim period will be determined based on the needs of the congregation and the progress of the search.
