Lawing’s Chapel Baptist Church is a conservative Southern Baptist Church located in the Maiden, North Carolina community and is seeking a full-time Pastor. The Church was founded in 1907 and currently has a multi-generational congregation with an average attendance of 170.  LCBC has ministry opportunities available for all age groups, nursery through senior adults.

Overview

As the under-shepherd of the Church, the Pastor is the spiritual leader and is responsible for the following: 

• Proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ
• Teach Biblical Scripture
• Engage in pastoral care
• Provide administrative leadership in all areas of Church life and function
• Lead collaboratively with the Deacons and the Church staff to provide opportunities for members/guests to worship
• Be discipled toward growth in his walk of faith
• Impact his community with a Gospel-centered life 

• Stand firm for the sanctity of human life, the sacredness of marriage between one man and one woman, and the fundamental freedom to express our faith in the public arena

Qualifications

• Evidence of Biblical knowledge and wisdom with experience in preaching/teaching the Gospel Message
• Called of God to the Gospel ministry and is an ordained Southern Baptist Minister 
• Support the Baptist Faith and Message (version 2000)  

• Demonstrate a personal life style that serves as a model for the congregation

• Possess Biblical qualifications as stated in I Timothy 3:1-7  
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills 
• Possess strong servant-leadership skills including the ability to take initiative, set goals and objectives, and work collaboratively with others
• Be gifted in building relationships and fostering the building of relationships among others 
• Passionate for shepherding the saints – equipping them for Christian ministry

• Possess the following attributes: personal relationship with Jesus, integrity, humility, fiscal responsibility, purpose driven, encourager, mentoring skills, peaceful, patient, apt to teach, gentle, compassionate, not quick tempered and demonstrates perseverance
