Come join us at Manteo Baptist Church in the historic town of Manteo on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. We are a friendly, warm, welcoming church looking for the man that God has already identified to be our next pastor. We are seeking a high energy pastor with contagious enthusiasm for Kingdom work. Our new pastor will be a dynamic teacher with the ability to preach the uncompromising truth of God’s inerrant, holy word. Our new pastor will develop a clear vision for the future of Manteo Baptist Church that will be made evident through his innovative methods of discipling and developing our current congregation and reaching out to our community through a bold evangelistic emphasis.
While caring for and looking after the needs of his own family as a definite priority, our new pastor will be responsible for the following church activities:
- Hands on staff administration and supervision
- Working closely with deacon board
- Promote attendance at Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday night and other church functions
- Visitation of both church members and prospective members
- Promoting church ministries both internally and throughout the community
- Growing church, internally through discipleship and externally through outreach/evangelism
- Spending time in Bible study, prayer, and sermon preparation
- Counseling and advising to include networking when applicable
- Involvement with SBC at multiple levels
- Supporting local, national, and international missions
- Evaluate current Sunday School and other church programs
- Evaluate current programs for youth and propose innovative ways to attract and retain more youth
Our new pastor must be:
A people person able to relate to people one on one; he must be approachable
A teacher of the Bible; an effective communicator to reach all generations
A great listener, understanding the needs of the congregation
A Biblical servant leader
Able to teach, train, and equip congregation in today’s culture to function in changing times
Able to create a unified, harmonious church congregation
Able to reach out in community across cultural, ethnic, and racial lines to draw new members
