Associate Pastor of Worship or Worship Leader

Objective:
We are prayerfully searching for a full-time Associate Pastor of Worship (ordained) or Worship Leader to join our ministry team at First Baptist King.
Position Summary:
To join the FBC King ministry team and lead our worship ministry, including our multigeneration choir, praise team, and band. If ordained, to also join the pastoral team and assist in the biblical responsibilities of shepherding the flock.
Status:
Full-time/Part-time depending on the candidate
Ministry Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will love Christ, His Word, and His church. If married, he will seek to minister to his family first and will evidence a Christ-centered marriage. He will support the agreed upon vision of the Senior Pastor/Church to see God glorified and joy multiplied, from our neighborhoods to the nations. He will strategically join FBC King as we fulfill our mission and vision by strategically:
- Entering the Community
- Engaging the Lost
- Equipping the Saints
- Edifying the Church
- Expanding the Kingdom

Worship Ministry
- Work closely with Senior Pastor to create God-honoring, biblically faithful, Christ-exalting services.
- Coordinate and provide music for weddings, funerals, and special events upon request of the Senior Pastor.
- Leadership of adult choir and assists Children’s Minister with children’s choir.
- Oversight of praise team and band.
- Maintain budget, materials, equipment, and instruments associated with ministry.
- Work closely with Sound/AV/Tech Teams regarding all audio, visual, and IT needs of the church.
Miscellaneous
- Additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor
- Maintain biblical qualifications for pastor (if ordained)
- Report to the Senior Pastor
Qualifications:
Minimum:A born-again, baptized believer who affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and, if ordained, meets the New Testament qualifications of pastor/elder. He must possess the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to spearhead FBC’s worship ministry and whatever duties are agreed upon with the Senior Pastor. He must be committed to gospel focused, Christ-centered discipleship and expositional methods and have a high view of God’s sovereignty and Word. He will emphasize God’s glory above all else and be willing to contribute to a multigenerational/integrated approach to ministry. He will affirm the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). He will have a driver’s license (clean driving record) and a willingness to undergo a background check.
Preferred (not required): Seminary education

First Baptist King is a growing, medium-size Southern Baptist Church averaging between 275-300 in attendance each Sunday morning. We are a gospel-centered, Christ-exalting church that considers God’s glory our greatest pursuit. We value expositional teaching, biblically faithful, blended worship which consists primarily of modern hymns, and dynamic ministry that impacts the nations and our community. We consider ourselves a multigenerational church with a strong core of young families and youth.
In January 2022, we welcomed our new Senior Pastor who joined our church after 6 years with the International Mission Board. Our ministry team consists of our Senior Pastor (SEBTS), our Children’s Minister, our Youth Pastor, our Facilities Manager, our Ministry Assistant, and our part-time Media Technician, Financial Secretary, and Music Assistant. We are also prayerfully seeking an Executive Pastor.

King is a growing community nestled in the foothills of NC. We are less than 20 minutes north of the large city of Winston-Salem and 20 minutes south Mt. Airy, NC. King is a wonderful place for families with solid schools, medical services, and shopping. It is a favorite of outdoor enthusiasts who love to visit Pilot Mountain State Park and Hanging Rock State Park, both of which are within 20 minutes of King.
