Modern Worship and Media

The Modern Worship and Media Pastor will be responsible for planning, executing, and leading the modern worship experiences at Grey Stone Church each week. Working in collaboration with the Senior Pastor, the Modern Worship and Media Pastor will craft meaningful worship experiences that inspire awe and draw people into the presence of God each week. Strong vocal skills, ability to lead from an instrument (preferably guitar), and excellent stage presence will be marks of the new leader. In addition, the new leader will provide oversight for the digital footprint at Grey Stone, and work hand in hand with ProFire media to build an engaging digital strategy. As a team player, the right candidate will know how to inspire and lead both large and small groups of people, as well as prioritize interpersonal relationships with members and fellow staff. The church is a multi-generational congregation that offers a traditional worship experience (led by another pastor), and the modern worship service. The modern worship leader will need to have experience leading worship with a band.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and leading weekend worship experiences
• Working with the Lead Pastor, in planning and executing services
• Lead from an instrument (preferably guitar)
• Demonstrate exceptional vocal skill and leadership ability
• Provide oversight to Grey Stone’s digital and video ministry. This includes working hand in hand with ProFire media to build an engaging digital footprint for Grey Stone.
• Pastor, shepherd, and love the Grey Stone worship team and Grey Stone community.  

What a Strong Candidate Would Look Like:

• Relational Shepherd of People: Gifted at connecting and caring for people. Ability to connect with multiple generations.
• Builder: Passionate about equipping, mentoring, and leading.
• Worshipper: Passionate and skilled Lead Worshipper.
• Team Player: Has a “we” not “me” ministry approach.
• Skill: Ability to lead from an instrument (preferably guitar)
• Experienced: Previous experience leading worship in a church setting.
• Grey Stone is a gospel-centered church with a dedicated staff that loves the city of Durham and the surrounding Triangle.
