Charlotte Chinese Baptist Church (CCBC) is currently seeking a full-time pastor for the Chinese congregation. Charlotte is located in North Carolina, with a population of about 930,000. CCBC has a congregation of over 100 people, with approximately half participating in worship in the Chinese congregation, while the rest participate in the English congregation. The Chinese pastor will work together with the English pastor and the church deacons to spread the Gospel, build up the saints, serve God, and minister to the congregation and the surrounding community.
**Basic Requirements**
- Ability to preach in Chinese (Mandarin) and have good English communication skills.
- Agreement with CCBC's Statement of Faith and Church Constitution (see link: https://www.ccbcnc.org/chinese-churchdocuments).
- Living according to biblical principles (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9).
- Born again for more than seven years, married, with the wife also born again. We also expect the pastor’s wife to participate in church service.
**Responsibilities**
- Devoutly love the Lord, teach, shepherd, and care for the Chinese congregation according to biblical teachings; have a clear vision.
- Work together in unity with co-workers to plan and implement various ministries to achieve the vision.
- Teach God's Word based on the Bible: responsible for Sunday preaching, presiding over the Lord’s Supper and baptisms, participating in adult Sunday school, and small group fellowship activities.
- Through prayer, teaching, discipleship, missions, and evangelism, strengthen the congregation’s faith in Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, ignite their spiritual life, and inspire their sense of mission.
- Shepherd and train core co-workers, such as deacons, ministry leaders, and small group leaders.
- Care for the congregation, regularly visit families in need, and provide pastoral services such as marriage counseling, family relationship counseling, and officiating weddings and funerals.
- Maintain regular contact, communication, prayer, and sharing with pastors from other Christian churches; participate in regional or national pastoral retreats from time to time to grow spiritually, broaden horizons, and better serve God.
**Education/Experience/Qualifications**
- Preference will be given to applicants with a degree from an evangelical seminary, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.), or an equivalent degree.
- Clear calling and mission from God; uphold and live out the Gospel faith.
- Have a pastor's heart, leadership gifts, and a spirit of teamwork; able to relate to a congregation from different cultural backgrounds.
- Have at least 3 years of pastoral experience or equivalent church service experience; preference will be given to those with pastoral experience in North American Chinese churches.
- Immigration Status: Preference will be given to applicants with U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
**Salary and Benefits**
- Will be determined based on the applicant's theological education and pastoral experience.
