Edisto Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Pastor who has been called by God to serve our congregation. Edisto Baptist is located in rural Bamberg County at 4831 Edisto River Road about 4.5 miles from Branchville, SC. Edisto Baptist is a church family that values biblical preaching, heartfelt worship and Great Commission engagement above all else. We have worship and training services on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings as well as prayer services on Wednesday evenings.
Edisto Baptist is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and the Barnwell-Bamberg Baptist Association. Edisto is searching for a pastor who is committed to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible and will live by the Scriptural basis for a pastor (1 Tim 3:1-7). He will agree with the Baptist Faith Message 2000, and will lead our church on the strong foundations of biblical authority. This is a full-time position, compensation will be commensurate with experience and a parsonage is available.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver weekly Bible-based sermons including Sunday night and Wednesday night prayer meetings.
- Provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, and encouragement to the congregation.
- Visit and minister to members, including homebound people, hospitalized, and those in need.
- Oversee the administration of the ordinances (baptism and the Lord's Supper).
- Work alongside deacons and committees in planning and decision-making with congregational support in all attributes of the church.
- To oversee the administration and management of all areas of the congregation's ministry in consultation with Deacons, teams and staff.
- Officiate weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties.
- Represent the church within the local community.
