Church calendar year is September to August, with fiscal year following a calendar year. Church has 5 paid positions beyond the pastor. Church has two part-time secretaries, one of which is there morning hours roughly 8-12 with the other primarily outside normal business hours with a varying schedule. Church has a part-time custodian with an alternate when required. Church also has two part-time groundskeepers. Other positions are on a volunteer basis often referenced as our officers and teachers list. This includes committees, trustees, and deacons. Deacons serve a three year term with a minimum one year break and are nominated and elected from the congregation. Congregation looks at the reputation of the deacon and deacon's spouse to ensure both are of good report. Men who are nominated by the congregation to become deacons prayerfully follow their conscience in interpreting the rest of 1 Timothy 3:8-12 regarding whether they serve if they have been divorced and/or remarried or widowed and remarried. Dover does not disqualify men who may have been through these types of circumstances from service. Church currently has 7 deacons.
