Gospel Baptist Church exists to make and mature disciples in our neighborhood and the nations. Because of that, we are seeking a full-time Next-Generation Pastor to serve in our next-generation ministries as we strive to develop the next generation of disciples in our neighborhood and the nations.

 

Over the past two years, Gospel has seen tremendous growth, averaging 460 on a Sunday morning with a multi-generational congregation.

 

Our church campus has a demographic of 85,000 people, 45,000 of whom are unchurched. We pray that God leads the right candidate to fill this position as we strive to make mature disciples in northern Greensboro and across the nations.

Qualifications

  • Meets the qualifications for a pastor/elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3.
  • Have a growing relationship with Jesus.
  • Prioritizes leading family well over other work.
  • Agrees with our church’s purpose, mission, values, and statement of faith.
  • Desires to develop, lead, and facilitate ministries.
  • Interested in ministry in a small-town environment and church revitalization.
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred but not required.
  • Masters degree preferred.

 

Next Generation Responsibilities

  • Recruit and train volunteers for both the worship and next-gen. Ministries.
  • Investing in parents is the primary strategy to reach the next generation.
  • Supplement parents with discipleship materials and opportunities to invest in their children.
  • Develop a comprehensive discipleship strategy for next-generation ministry along with the student and children’s ministry director.
  • Organize, attend, and lead Wednesday night next-generation ministries.
  • Have a presence in community events for the next generation.
  • Create outreach opportunities for our families to help reach the lost in our community.

 

Other Ministry

  • Work with the Senior Pastor and staff to shepherd the church.
  • Assist the Lead Pastor with developing and implementing the vision and direction of the church.
  • Attend a small group (there may be an opportunity to lead one).
  • Attend Monthly deacon meetings.
  • Ensure that family comes before ministry.
  • Have a servant’s heart to help serve in other capacities as able.

 

Salary: The starting salary for this position will be discussed during the interview process. We ensure our staff members are compensated accordingly.
