Job Description: Part-Time Associate Pastor Position: Part-Time Associate Pastor Hours: 24 hours per week Primary Emphasis: Youth Ministry and Ministry Leadership Location: Macon Baptist Church 159 Church Street, Macon, North Carolina 27551 Overview: Macon Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Associate Pastor to support our vibrant community and lead our youth ministry. This position will involve engaging with young people, developing programs, and providing spiritual guidance, along with supporting various church ministries and performing some clerical tasks. Key Responsibilities: 1. Youth Ministry Leadership: - Plan, implement, and oversee youth programs that promote spiritual growth, community, and outreach. - Regularly lead and teach the Scriptures, share the Gospel, and disciple teens with the goal of presenting them mature in Christ in the setting of Sunday School, Wednesday evening Bible studies, and as growth warrants the Macon Youth for Christ youth group. - Organize regular youth events, retreats, and outreach events. - Foster relationships with youth and their families to encourage participation and engagement. - Provide mentorship and guidance to youth leaders and volunteers. - Develop and manage the youth ministry budget, in collaboration with the pastor, treasurer, and children’s ministry workers. 2. Ministry Support: - Collaborate with the senior pastor and ministry leaders to support church initiatives - Assist in planning and executing church-wide events and programs. 3. Clerical and Administrative Duties: - Maintain youth ministry records, including attendance, participation, and feedback. - Prepare communication materials such as bulletin inserts, social media posts, and announcements related to youth activities. - Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating volunteers, and managing logistical needs for church-wide initiatives. 4. Community Engagement: - Connect with local schools and community organizations to promote youth involvement and outreach. - Encourage youth participation in community service projects and mission initiatives. Qualifications: - A bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred, or relevant experience in youth ministry. - A commitment to the mission and values of Macon Baptist Church (visit maconbaptistchurch.org and click on the “What We Believe” tab for more information). - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. - Experience in planning and leading youth activities and programs. - A deep knowledge of the Bible and Christian theology. - Must possess the fifteen (15) 1 Timothy 3:1-7 character qualities for church leaders. Salary & Benefits: - Salary range is between $20,000 - $30,000 - Mileage for drive time, included in salary. - Church assistance if moving to Warren County is desired.
