Pastor Job Description

Position Overview

We are currently searching for a full-time Senior Pastor to lead our Church through God’s will.  The Senior Pastor will proclaim the gospel of Jesus, teach the word of God, engage in pastoral care, and provide leadership to all areas of the Church.

Experience & Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited seminary or divinity school
• Experience in a lead pastoral role
• Experience in sharing leadership with deacons, committee chairs and teachers
• Experience in connecting and communication with multiple generation age groups

Pastoral Responsibilities

• Provide and plan to preach God’s Word Sunday Mornings
• Provide and plan for weekly Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer meeting
• Provide pastoral care for the sick, elderly, suffering and home bound members
• Offer prayer and counseling to people who are facing difficult circumstances
• Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, premarital counseling and baby dedications
• Be available to members and people of the community through regular office hours.

• Participation in the Lord’s Supper
• Lead and promote spiritual growth in the Church
• Participation in youth outreach – Vacation Bible School and other activities planned throughout the year.

Administration and Leadership

• Help build community with in the Church
• Lead and encourage members to use their gifts to serve the Church in various areas
• Attend and report at meetings with in the Church
• Lead the congregation with compassion to uphold the truth of the Gospel and adhere to God’s truths
• Lead the congregation to grow God’s Kingdom and live out the Great Commission
• Participate in the community ministerial
• Oversee the spiritual care and Biblical instruction of the Church
