Good News Baptist Church is a growing church in Lee County, NC with an average Sunday morning worship attendance of approximately 150 people. We are looking for a part-time Youth Minister to lead our middle school and high school members.

Qualifications

The youth minister will be a person who is called by God to serve alongside the pastor and lay leaders of the church.
Born again, baptized believer and a member of the church who upholds the beliefs of Good News Baptist Church as set forth in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), adheres to the constitution and by-laws adopted by the church.
Called by God to teach the gospel and communicate it effectively (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1).
Growing in a love relationship with Jesus Christ.
Faithfully committed to prayer and the ministry of the Word of God (Acts 6:1-7).
Must have a desire to see the lives of students changed by the gospel.
Possess a strong understanding of the scriptures with strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to develop healthy relationships with the youth and parents.
A desire to educate, equip, empower, and release volunteers to work in youth ministry.
Must be able to pass a background check and have reliable transportation.
At least 1-2 years of ministry experience with students 6-12 grade (staff or volunteer) and/or a degree in a relevant field.
Must have a high school diploma.

 

Responsibilities

Lead the church’s effort to minister with and to the youth grades 6-12.
Reach out to the unchurched youth in the community.
Recruit, develop, and deploy new volunteers for the church’s youth ministry.
Develop an annual budget for the youth ministry and operate within the constraints of that budget.
Develop a Bible teaching calendar for the youth that takes into consideration the spiritual needs of the youth in the church and teach with conviction, compassion, and care.
Develop and execute a long-term vision for the youth ministry which would include camps, activities, and various mission experiences.
Work with other church leaders to find ministry opportunities for the youth to serve in the church and in the community.

 

Benefits

Part time (15-20 hours per week)

2 paid Sundays off per year

Salary commensurate with experience (education, skills, training, etc.)

Salary starts at $19,500.00 per year.

The Personnel Team will have an evaluation at the end of 6 months.

Yearly evaluations afterwards.
