Youth Pastor & Minister to Families

Job Description

Purpose: Midway Baptist Church is seeking an individual to lead our Youth Ministry and develop an integrated approach to Family Ministry. This includes modeling and teaching aspects of personal and family discipleship.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a Christian already active in an SBC church
• Meet the 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 qualifications for pastoral staff
• Committed to SBC doctrine and beliefs
• Supportive of the Midway vision & values and committed to a team approach to ministry
• Relational style of leadership and ministry
• Joyful spirit
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Committed to on-going spiritual growth
• General availability to Senior Pastor and appropriate ministry volunteers

Desirable Qualifications (not required):

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Youth or Family Ministry
• 3+ years of ministry experience

Responsibilities:

• Reports directly to, and is annually evaluated by, the Senior Pastor
• Provides leadership and passion in the area of youth and family ministries that are in line with the overall vision and mission of Midway Baptist Church
• Supervises the Children’s Ministry Leadership to coordinate/foster family spiritual growth and participation in church life.
• Takes the lead in creating and implementing new family ministry opportunities which align with the mission and vision.
• Develops and administers an annual budget for the youth & family ministries in accordance with the financial policies of the church. Oversee the development of the children’s ministry budget.
• Attends weekly staff meetings and participates with the Church Leadership Team in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
• Facilitates Pastoral Care (especially among Youth Families) by assisting with ministry visits and calls to guests, the homebound, hospitalized, and those in other care facilities.
• Assists the Senior Pastor in other ministerial duties as assigned.
