FREEDOM CHURCH
Freedom Church of Lincolnton, NC, is searching for a man who will lead our worship ministry and, if desired, serve as a pastoral resident with the potential of being sent out to pastor or church plant. Freedom is an eighteen-year-old church in downtown Lincolnton, NC, just a short drive from Charlotte. We have a membership of about 180 and an average attendance of about 215. We are an elder-led Southern Baptist Church deeply connected to the Pillar Network. Our style is simple and relatively modern, and we strive to be gospel-centered in everything we do. Our music is led by a band that plays songs and hymns in the style of worship leaders such as City Alight, Matt Papa, Matt Boswell, and Shane and Shane. RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

  • Exhibit the moral character of a deacon (1 Tim 3:8–12)
  • Prepare worship sets for the corporate worship service
  • Lead band rehearsals (typically on Wednesday evenings)
  • Prepare service schedules in Planning Center
  • Provide guidance to our sound team 
  • Submission to a criminal background check and completion of abuse/safety training

COMPENSATION
$18,000/yr

OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLEGE OR SEMINARY CREDIT
The worship leader/resident pursuing theological education can earn credit at The College at Southeastern or Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) during his time at Freedom Church. Residents must be enrolled and must cover the cost of the classes. Additional assignments may be required for interns taking seminary classes. SEBTS students can earn up to 36 hours of credit. Course credit is also available through the Institute of Theology  and Mission (www.theologyandmission.org) and The Residency Project.
