Paid Youth/Student Minister Oppotunity-2026 Until Filled
Youth/Student Minister (Part Time-20 Hours/Week)
First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount, NC is prayerfully seeking a Christ-centered Youth/Student Minister to provide leadership and shepherding of students in grades 6 and up. This is a 20-hour-a-week position with the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment if mutally desired after a trial period. The church has a small, but promising youth group and is seeking intentional leadership to strengthen and grow this ministry.
Key Responsibilities:
*Provide spiritual leadership and shepherding of students grades 6 and up.
*Teach Junior and Senior High Sunday School (Sundays 9:00-10:15 am).
*Plan and lead one weekly youth activity with approved volunteers. Presently, Wednesday nights 5-7 pm, but negotiable.
*Communicate regularly with students and families.
*Develop and begin implementing a plan to grow the youth/student ministry.
*Lead students, through the work of the Holy Spirit, to a confession of faith and baptism.
*Oversee and coordinate with volunteer nursery workers K-through 5th grade with Sunday School activities.
*In person or Zoom staff meetings as called by Senior Pastor.
Qualifications:
*Confessing Christian, water baptized following personal confession of faith.
*Demonstrates integrity, transparency, and Christ-like character.
*Willing to be accountable and pursue spiritual growth.
*Valid driver's license (no CDL needed for 9 passanger church vans) and ability to pass a background check.
*Active participation at Frist Baptist Church of Rocky Mount (exceptions discussed).
Education & Experience:
*Minimum: High School diploma
*Preferred: Some college coursework and/or youth minister experience
*Highly Preferred: Youth minister experience with college and/or seminiary coursework or degree(s).
Compensation:
*Negotiable, but well compensated based on experience and qualifications.
