Job Description: Children’s Ministry Coordinator

Position Reports to: Family Pastor

Employment Status: Part-time (22 hours per week). Evenings and weekend work required (e.g., Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, special events, etc.).

Purpose: Work closely with the Family Pastor to provide a dynamic children’s ministry (birth – 5^th Grade). Create a warm and safe environment for children to learn about Jesus and begin a relationship with Him.

Duties:

• Provide leadership to the children's ministry program on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and other special events (VBS, I’m A Christian Now, etc.)
• Recruit, train, and empower children’s ministry volunteers.
• Provide ongoing coaching for children’s ministry volunteers for encouragement, recognition, and support.
• Oversee the children’s ministry check-in systems to ensure families are welcomed and guests are properly checked in and cared for.
• Oversee volunteer schedules, rosters, and communication with children’s ministry teams.
• Ensure classrooms are organized and equipped with materials and supplies for ministry activities.
• Work with the Family Pastor to develop a strategy to disciple children.
• Identify and train someone to lead in your absence.
• Work with the supervisor to set and adjust the weekly work schedule.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Assist Family Pastor with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

• Personal, active, and growing relationship with God with a passion for serving children and families.
• A team player who is teachable, responsible, flexible, and demonstrates excellent time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software.
• Basic experience with online tools such as social media.

Office Hours & Work Schedule:

1. Program Hours: Sunday Mornings 8:00a – 12:00p & Wednesday Evenings 4:30p – 8:30p.
2. Office Hours: Tuesday & Thursday 9:00a – 3:00p. (Staff Meetings on 2^nd and 4^th Tuesday of the month.)
3. Additional Hours: This person will be expected to attend key events/meetings outside of the above program/office hours. Please see the supervisor for details. 

 Salary Range

$20,000 - $25,000 (Based on experience)
