We are prayerfully seeking a Pastor who will lead with biblical conviction, spiritual maturity, and a heart for God’s people.
Position Summary
The Pastor will serve as the spiritual leader of First Baptist Church of Siler City, providing guidance, pastoral care, and vision for the congregation. This individual will work collaboratively with the Deacons, ministry teams, and church staff to support and strengthen the ministries of the church while leading the congregation in fulfilling its mission and advancing the Kingdom of God.
Primary Responsibilities
- Proclaim the Word of God through faithful, biblically grounded preaching and teaching.
- Provide pastoral care, including counseling, visitation, and support during times of need.
- Maintain regular office hours and be available for evenings and weekends as ministry demands require.
- Lead and oversee worship services, ordinances, Bible study, and special services. Including weddings, funerals, Easter & Christmas Eve services.
- Partner with church leadership to develop and implement the spiritual direction and ministry goals of the church.
- Encourage and cultivate discipleship, spiritual growth, and evangelism within the congregation.
- Equip members to use their spiritual gifts in service and ministry.
- Provide leadership in planning, evaluating, and strengthening church programs and ministries.
- Represent the church within the community and foster relationships that support outreach and missions.
- Lead changes thoughtfully, guiding the church through seasons of growth and transition.
- Provide leadership and supervision to church staff, fostering a healthy and collaborative ministry environment.
- Maintain a consistent personal walk with Christ, demonstrating integrity, humility, and a commitment to prayer.
Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry.
- Strong commitment to the authority of Scripture and the Baptist faith tradition.
- Must affirm and support the service of women as Deacons and in other leadership roles within the church.
- Must be an ordained minister by a Southern Baptist church.
- Seminary degree preferred plus five years of pastoral experience.
- Proven experience in preaching, pastoral care, and congregational leadership.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to relate well to individuals of all ages.
- Demonstrated commitment to discipleship, evangelism, and community engagement.
- Candidates outside of the Siler City area must be willing to relocate within 90 days of hire.

Compensation
- Salary and compensation package based on education and experience.
- Mileage reimbursed for travel beyond scheduled services at the current IRS rate.
- Two weeks of vacation annually.
