Center Grove Baptist Church
Pastor Profile
ABOUT THE CHURCH
Center Grove Baptist Church is a small rural church located in Northeast NC just
outside the town of Ahoskie. We are centrally located 2 hours outside of the Outer
Banks, 1 hour from Greenville ,1 and a half hour from Norfolk, VA, and 2 hours from
Raleigh. Our church was founded in 1897 by a small group of men living in the
community. Throughout the years as the congregation grew in number, addition to the
original sanctuary has been added. We remain a small country church that loves the
Lord and continues to dedicate ourselves to sharing the gospel.
CGBC is a Christ centered Southern Baptist Church dedicated to loving God and loving
our neighbors as ourselves. We believe in one God who revealed himself as our Father,
manifested Himself in flesh as his son Jesus Christ, and abides in believers’ hearts as
the Holy Spirit. We also believe the Bible is the infallible word of God having all authority
for salvation and Christian beliefs and standards to live by. At CGBC our mission is
Gods great commission, which is: Go and make disciples of all nations and baptize
them in the name of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. We are a mission minded
church supporting local missions, national missions (Appalachian backpack ministry),
and worldwide missions (Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child). We also have
an active Woman on Mission Group who ministers to the congregational needs as well
as the local community needs. We are a group of women who continue to grow in
faith by having biblical devotions at each meeting and bible studies as a tool for spiritual
growth.
CGBC services are held every Sunday morning starting with Sunday School at 10:00
am and Worship Service at 11:00am, we also have services every Wednesday night at
6:15 pm with our Children’s Ministry and 7:00 pm for our adult bible study. The average
attendance for Sunday School is 13 people, average attendance for worship service is
38 people, Children’s Ministry is 3-4 youth and 9-12 kids, and Bible Study is 10-12
people.
