Anticipated Time Commitments

  • Part-time (approximately twenty hours per week)

  • Ministry education and experience preferred
    • Pursuing or completed Seminary education

  • Agrees to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000
  • Valid Driver’s License Required

 

Expectations

  • Lead and cultivate weekly youth ministry
    • Provide weekly meetings on Sunday mornings (such as Sunday School) and Wednesday evenings
    • Identify the needs and interests of teens within the church and community
    • Evaluate existing programs to determine effectiveness
    • Identify and develop  ministry opportunities/programs for teens
    • Connect visiting and local teens to the church
    • Provide counseling and spiritual direction to teens on both an individual and group basis
    • Develop the youth ministry budget and track expenditures throughout the year in conjunction with Budget Committee
  • Plan regular events and activities
    • Responsible for planning youth events as applicable in the area of outreach, evangelism, and/or discipleship
    • Plan at least one mission trip or Christian camp event per year
    • Coordinate and supervise recreational activities for the youth
  • Recruit volunteers to work with the youth as needed
    • Meet regularly with youth ministry volunteers to pray and to discuss upcoming events, challenges, solutions, and praises
    • Provide training for volunteers as needed
    • Work with the Youth Council and appoint church members to the council as needed
  • Be involved in the church community
    • Participate in Quarterly Business Meetings and Church Council
