Plymouth Church (SBC), a loving and growing congregation, is prayerfully seeking a part-time (5-8 hours/week) Worship Director.
This would be an excellent opportunity for a student. We are seeking someone to lead and develop the praise band to enhance worship at our Sunday service at 10:30 am. We have a truly blended service with two songs using a praise band and two hymns using piano. This job description and compensation are flexible and can be tailored to the gifts and experience of the candidate.
We are looking for someone who can lead with singing from guitar and/or piano. Compensation will be at least 1,000/month and could be much higher depending on the person.
The details are as follows (flexible) We are seeking someone to:
Work with the Pastor to oversee and coordinate Sunday morning services and the overall music ministry of the church.
Works with a team of Sunday morning volunteers to promote a positive atmosphere of teamwork and worship as we seek to help people use their spiritual gifts to serve the Lord.
Organize and lead the Praise Band for the praise songs at the beginning of the worship service.
Encourage, resource, and assist with audio and digital aspects of the Sunday service and its dissemination as needed and dependent upon skill level.
If the candidate does not play the piano, work with the pianist to select hymns for Sunday Service. If the candidate does play the piano, there would be an opportunity to play for the two hymns and lead the monthly Ensemble.
Work with the hymn leader rotation group to ensure a hymn leader for each Sunday and with the praise singers rotation to ensure two singers each week.
Recruit and schedule volunteers for the special music time in our service each Sunday.
Lead and expect the highest standard of Christian character and commitment to Christ and the church, becoming a part of our church family.
Work in close relationship and cooperation with the staff leadership of the Pastor. There is an opportunity to pursue additional ministry in the church as desired.
