Position Title: Family Ministry Pastor
Reports To: Senior Pastor

Position Summary
The Family Ministry Pastor will serve as a shepherd-leader who is passionate about the glory of God, the centrality of the gospel, and the spiritual formation of families, students, and senior adults. He will be responsible for overseeing, developing, and growing ministries to children, youth, parents, and senior adults within the church, equipping families to flourish in Christ. The role includes some regular preaching and teaching responsibilities, under the direction of the Senior Pastor.
Key Responsibilities
Shepherding and Oversight
- In collaboration with the Elders, provide spiritual care and biblical guidance to families, teenagers, and senior adults.
- Lead and oversee ministries to children, youth, and parents—helping them grow in love for Christ, knowledge of the Word, and faithful obedience.
- Cultivate an intentional ministry to senior adults, encouraging ongoing discipleship, service, and fellowship.
- Build, train, and shepherd ministry teams and volunteers for various age groups.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness and biblical fidelity of family and generational ministries.
Preaching and Teaching
- Preach in worship services as scheduled by the Senior Pastor.
- Teach regularly in midweek gatherings, youth ministry, and adult classes as needed.
- Model expository, Christ-centered, gospel-saturated teaching in all settings.
Discipleship and Equipping
- Equip parents to be the primary disciple-makers of their children.
- Develop and lead discipleship pathways for youth and senior adults.
- Create and oversee biblical training environments and small group opportunities.
Leadership and Administration
- Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and elders in vision-casting and ministry strategy.
- Provide leadership to volunteer teams and ministry leaders through coaching, encouragement, and biblical accountability.
- Manage ministry budgets and oversee the scheduling and coordination of events, retreats, and activities.
Qualifications
Spiritual & Personal
- A clear testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ and a growing, Spirit-empowered walk with God.
- Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9).
- Deep love for the local church and a shepherd’s heart for people of all ages.
- Strong relational and communication skills across generations.
Doctrinal
- Fully aligned with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
- Committed to the sufficiency of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, and the centrality of the gospel in all of life.
- Theological convictions consistent with a Reformed and complementarian understanding of ministry.
Professional
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master of Divinity (or similar theological education) preferred.
- Experience in family, youth, or multi-generational ministry strongly preferred.
- A proven track record of faithful preaching, teaching, and pastoral care.
Relationships
The Family Ministry Pastor will report directly to the Senior Pastor and work closely with the elder body. He will lead and coordinate with ministry volunteers and serve as a team player on the pastoral staff.
