Music Minister Job Posting

First Baptist Church of Kernersville is seeking a part-time Music Minister to lead us in this crucial part of worship and ministry! We're looking for someone who has the skills and acumen listed below and the passion to make a joyful noise to the Lord and lead others to do the same. 

JOB PURPOSE:

Planning and conducting a comprehensive Music Ministry

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Direct the Adult Choir.
2. Be responsible for music at the Morning Worship Services and evenings when necessary.
3. Assist Pastor and Staff in Worship Planning.
4. Attend Staff Meetings (when possible).
5. Direct the Youth Choir.
6. Assist Pastor in planning congregational services of the Church.
7. Direct Hand Bell Choir.
8. Be responsible for music at special functions and services (when necessary).

ACTIVITIES:

1. Coordinate music groups (choirs, handbells, praise band, etc.).
2. Introduce a modern approach to hymns and a variety of musical styles to enrich congregational worship.
3. Promote special music, such as solos, duets, trios, quartets, ensembles, etc.
4. Minister to needs of Choir Members.
5. Provide publicity information covering music for promotion in the Church.
6. Enlist Choir Members.
7. Lead and help workers in the selection of appropriate music for their groups.
8. Encourage and develop the use of a variety of instruments.
9. The Minister of Music will supervise the pianist and organist, and the Minister of Music will do their evaluations.
10. Music Programs are to be appraised by the Senior Pastor and Minister of Music.
11. If absent, the Minister of Music is responsible for getting a substitute. The Substitute is to be paid by the Church.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: College Degree in Music Education

Experience: 3+ years

Proficient in Piano and/or Organ
