Position Summary

Gospel Baptist Church is seeking a Part-Time Worship Pastor/Leader (10–15 hours per week) who will lead our congregation in meaningful, God-glorifying worship that supports our mission of making and maturing disciples. This individual will shepherd the church musically and spiritually, working closely with the pastoral leadership to plan and lead worship services that are biblically grounded, gospel-centered, and congregationally engaging.

This role is ideal for someone who loves the local church, values theological depth, and desires to use music as a tool for discipleship and mission.

This position has the option of full-time. However, it depends on availablity and other pertinent factors. 

Key Responsibilities

Worship Leadership

• Plan and lead Christ-centered, congregational worship for weekly services

• Select biblically faithful and theologically rich songs that align with sermon themes and the church’s mission

• Lead rehearsals and prepare musicians and vocalists for weekly services

• Cultivate a culture of worship that emphasizes participation, reverence, and joy

Team Development & Shepherding

• Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers for the worship ministry

• Shepherd worship team members spiritually, modeling humility, preparation, and a servant’s heart

• Foster unity and collaboration among musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers

Collaboration & Planning

• Work closely with the Senior Pastor and church leadership in service planning

• Participate in regular staff meetings as scheduled

• Assist with special services (e.g., holidays, baptisms, special events) as needed

Administration & Preparation

• Manage weekly preparation tasks including song selection, charts, lyrics, and service flow

• Coordinate schedules for worship team members

• Maintain and steward worship-related equipment and resources

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal walk with Him

• Agreement with the mission, doctrine, and values of Gospel Baptist Church

• Demonstrated ability to lead congregational worship vocally and/or instrumentally

• Strong musical skills and an understanding of congregational worship leadership

• A heart for discipleship and the local church

• Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff, and volunteers

• Prior worship leadership experience in a church setting is preferred

Time Commitment

• 10–15 hours per week, including Sunday services, rehearsals, planning, and preparation

Accountability & Reporting

• Reports directly to the Executive Pastor of Administration

• Serves under the authority and direction of the pastoral leadership of Gospel Baptist Church

Compensation

• Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications
